DP30 acrylic sheet, also known by the Acrylite FFX designation, features a fine stippled or dimpled texture embossed into one face with a smooth surface on the reverse. The pattern obscures vision and hides what sits behind the panel while still transmitting light efficiently, making it the standard lens material for fluorescent and LED troffers, ceiling light panels, and any fixture where the lamp itself should not be visible. Because the texture is formed into the sheet during manufacture rather than coated on, it will not wear off, and the pattern diffuses light evenly across the panel without the hot spots or glare of clear glazing.
Clear DP30 is specified most often for lighting lenses and light box panels, ceiling and troffer diffusers, sign faces, decorative and privacy glazing, cabinet and partition inserts, shower and door panels, and display fixtures where obscuring the view is the point. It offers acrylic's usual advantages over glass — roughly half the weight, far greater impact resistance, and no yellowing under years of UV exposure — and it cuts, drills, routers, and thermoforms with standard acrylic tooling and techniques. Commonly stocked in 48" x 96" sheets in gauges from .100" through .250", with cut-to-size service for exact fixture dimensions.
