Acrylic Sheet, UV Filtering

Polymethyl methacrylate (acrylic)
UV filtering acrylic sheet blocks the ultraviolet wavelengths responsible for fading, yellowing, and material degradation while maintaining the water-clear transparency and high light transmission of standard acrylic. Premium conservation grades filter roughly 98% of UV radiation across the damaging spectrum, protecting artwork, documents, textiles, and merchandise from the cumulative light damage that occurs under gallery lighting, retail spotlighting, and daylight exposure. The UV inhibitor is incorporated into the sheet itself rather than applied as a surface film, so protection does not wear away with cleaning, handling, or age.

UV filtering acrylic is the standard glazing specification for museum and gallery cases, conservation and archival framing, fine art and photography protection, retail display cases holding light-sensitive merchandise, historical document and artifact enclosures, and skylights or windows where interior furnishings need protection. It carries acrylic's usual advantages over glass for these applications — roughly half the weight for easier handling of large pieces, far greater impact resistance, and no risk of shards damaging the artwork if the panel is broken. It cuts, routers, and drills with standard acrylic tooling and bonds with acrylic solvent cement.
