Densetec® Marine is a UV-stable high-density polyethylene sheet (PE 300) made to replace marine plywood and teak in wet, sunlit places. It does not rot, swell, splinter, crack or delaminate, it is mildew and moisture resistant, and it never needs painting or sealing — the colour runs through the full thickness, so a scratch or a fresh cut looks the same as the face. It machines easily on woodworking equipment and holds a clean routed edge, and it is RoHS and REACH compliant. The sheet comes in an extra-wide 54" x 96" size, which suits the long runs marine joinery tends to need.
Typical work is cabinetry and doors, trim and moulding, shelves and counter tops, hatch covers and bait tank covers, railings, steps and swim platforms, window surrounds, pool equipment and dock furniture. The desert sand texture hides handling marks and gives some grip underfoot when wet. Polyethylene will not take paint or solvent cement, so parts are fastened mechanically and allowance made for thermal movement on long runs. Every colour except black is FDA approved. Stocked 1/4" through 1", cut to your size.
