The PoliCarb® PC "U" profile is a polycarbonate end-closure that caps the open edge of a multiwall panel, sealing the flutes against dust, insects, and moisture. Closing the panel ends is not a cosmetic step in multiwall construction — open flutes draw in airborne debris and condensation that cloud the panel from the inside, and once contamination is in the channels it cannot be cleaned out. The U-shaped section slides over the panel edge and, being extruded from the same polycarbonate as the glazing, matches its thermal expansion and UV resistance so the closure stays seated and clear rather than shrinking away or yellowing against the panel. Available for 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 16mm, and 25mm panel thicknesses.
PC "U" profiles are used at the top and bottom edges of every multiwall installation — greenhouse and patio enclosures, canopies and covered walkways, roof and skylight glazing, vertical wall and window systems, and interior partitions and false ceilings. Correct sequence matters: apply solid sealing tape to the upper panel edge and breathable anti-dust tape to the lower edge, then install the U profile over the taped ends so trapped condensation can vent downward instead of collecting in the flutes. On sloped glazing, drill small weep holes in the bottom profile to let moisture escape. Match the profile size to your panel thickness, and combine with the balance of the PoliCarb accessory system — Corner "R", Flashing "F", PC Connector "H", aluminum "U" profiles, and the Poli-Lok® aluminum glazing system — for a complete weathertight assembly.
