Gallina PoliCarb® 7-wall is the high-insulation tier of the PoliCarb line, available in 25mm (1") and 40mm (1-9/16") panels whose seven-layer structure creates six insulating air chambers. The 25mm delivers a U-value of 0.26 (R-factor 3.85) at 0.717 lbs per square foot, while the 40mm reaches a U-value of 0.19 (R-factor 5.26) at 0.799 lbs per square foot — thermal performance approaching insulated glass units at a fraction of the weight, with none of the seal failure or breakage risk. Manufactured in Italy and coextruded with UV protection against yellowing and surface degradation, both gauges carry a 10-year warranty and polycarbonate's characteristic resistance to hail and impact.
Offered in clear and opal, the 25mm transmits 58% clear (SHGC 0.62, shading coefficient 0.71) or 40% opal (SHGC 0.45, SC 0.52), and the 40mm transmits 55% clear (SHGC 0.59, SC 0.68) or 35% opal (SHGC 0.39, SC 0.45) — delivering substantial daylight while cutting solar heat gain sharply. The opal grades diffuse light evenly across long spans with no hot spots, which makes them a common specification for gymnasiums, natatoriums, industrial and warehouse daylighting, atriums, transit shelters, and conditioned building envelopes where both insulation and glare control matter.
