King PipeGrade® is a PE100 black polyethylene sheet made from pipe-grade resin, for fabricating the flat parts that go with HDPE piping systems. It is UV stabilised and chemical resistant, will not rust, corrode or rot like traditional pipe materials, and welds with standard thermoplastic welding equipment so flanges and fittings fuse to the pipe rather than bolting to it. It complies with ASTM D3350 as cell classifications PE445574C CC3 and PE445576C CC3, and is made with materials meeting NSF/ANSI Standard 14 for potable water piping.
Typical parts are flanges, gussets, end caps, manhole lids, guides and wear plates, machine parts, and tanks and containers. As PE4710/PE100 it is fully interchangeable with PE3608/PE80 in existing systems, and its slow-crack resistance is the reason to specify it — a notched PENT result above 10,000 hours against 100 to 200 for other resins, and a 50 to 100 year service life per ISO CRS 10 MPa at 20°C. Stocked 1/8" through 4" on the 48" x 96" sheet and 1/4" through 1-1/2" on the wide 60" x 120", with moulded stock to 12" on request.
