Polycarbonate Sheet, UV Protective 2-Side (UV2)

UV2 polycarbonate sheet carries a co-extruded ultraviolet protective layer on both faces, shielding the panel from the sun-driven yellowing, chalking, and embrittlement that degrade unprotected polycarbonate within a few seasons outdoors. The UV layers are co-extruded into the sheet during manufacture rather than applied as coatings, so they cannot wear off, peel, or be polished away. Beneath them, the sheet delivers polycarbonate's defining strength: roughly 250 times the impact resistance of glass and 30 times that of acrylic, at half the weight of glass, with approximately 86% light transmission.

Beneath them, the sheet delivers polycarbonate's defining strength: roughly 250 times the impact resistance of glass and 30 times that of acrylic, at half the weight of glass, with approximately 86% light transmission.

The two-sided configuration protects glazing exposed to sunlight from both directions — freestanding barriers and partitions, glass railings and balustrades, carports and open canopies, greenhouse and solarium panels, covered walkway and breezeway glazing, transit shelters, agricultural structures, and any installation where reflected or secondary sun exposure reaches the back face. It also removes the orientation requirement entirely: unlike UV1 sheet, which must be installed with the protected face toward the sun and yellows badly if reversed, UV2 performs identically in either direction. On large jobs with multiple crews, or anywhere panels are cut and installed out of sequence, that alone can justify the cost difference over UV1 by eliminating the most common and most expensive field error with UV-protected polycarbonate.
