Sustainability
Colorado is a beautiful place. And the people here have a special level of commitment to protecting the natural world. For example, in 1972 voters in our state made Colorado the first, and so far only, place on earth that has ever turned down an Olympic Games which had already been awarded. This happened in large part due to the perceived environmental impact the 1976 Winter Olympics would have had on the Colorado landscape.
Today, Colorado is a leader in the renewal energy and cleantech and outdoor recreation industries.
And at Colorado Plastic Products, we believe responsible business means looking beyond today’s orders to tomorrow’s world. Since our founding, we’ve worked to minimize waste, extend the life of valuable materials, and help our customers make environmentally sound choices. From the shop floor to the community we serve, sustainability is woven into the way we operate.
Recycled Content Materials
In response to market demand, we’re doing our best to offer an increasing selection of sheet, rod, and tube products made with recycled plastic content. By sourcing and stocking these materials, we give customers the option to meet their technical needs while also reducing their environmental footprint.
Monthly Remnant Sale
Every month we open our doors for a Plastic Remnant Sale, where off-cuts and surplus pieces are sold at discounted prices. These remnants are regularly repurposed by local schools, universities, makers, artists, and small businesses. This simple program diverts thousands of pounds of plastic from landfills each year.
“Free Bins” for the Community
Not every scrap can be sold — but nearly every piece can be useful to someone. That’s why we place smaller off-cuts in our FREE bins behind the building. Teachers, students, and hobbyists stop by often to gather materials for projects, ensuring even our smallest pieces find new life.
Everyday Recycling in Our Operations
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond plastics. In our offices and warehouse, we recycle office paper, beverage containers, pallets, and other materials. By reducing waste in all aspects of our business, we strive to operate responsibly at every level.
🌱 At Colorado Plastic Products, sustainability is not an afterthought — it’s a commitment. By offering recycled content, reusing remnants, and engaging our community in creative recycling, we help ensure that plastics are part of the solution, not just the problem.
